Why Did You Use That Point?

Large Intestine 20

English name: Welcome Fragrance. Chinese name: Yingxiang

While summer is viewed as hay fever season, autumn can bring its own set of allergy triggers causing sinus congestion for many. This is a great point for disorders of the nose, it opens the nasal passages and clears obstruction.

Location

In the nasolabial groove, at the level of the midpoint of the lateral border of the ala nasi.

Self Care

Feel for the edge of your nostrils, right where they meet the skin of your face. Gently apply pressure between the side of your nostrils and your face, as you feel for a little dip in the tissue. Being gentle is the key here! This point can be quite sensitive, so go slowly. You'll know you are on the point when you feel the little dip and you notice a sensation when you apply pressure. Apply pressure in circular movements for a few minutes on each side, remember to breathe slow deep breaths during this process.

Tip: if you have one to hand you can use a pencil with a rubber attached to apply pressure.
